Data Science Analyst


Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Data Science Analyst to join the Analytics team. This position is located in our New York office, with three days on-site (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and a team flex day) and two days remote.


Job Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Analytics, this position will play a key role in designing and implementing data-driven solutions to optimize business strategies, identify trends, and enhance decision-making processes across the organization. The Data Science Analyst will also be responsible for leveraging statistical methods and machine learning techniques to deliver actionable insights and develop predictive models.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to internal stakeholders

  • Lead the development of new machine learning and advanced analytics to be deployed across the Haymarket business to support the growth of the business

  • Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modelling and application

  • Use data visualization tools to provide actionable data for the business

  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Development teams to optimize current processes and assist in the development of automated dashboards to provide improved internal and client reporting

  • Work with cross functional teams to identify business challenges and get business buy-in on development of scalable analytics solutions for those challenges.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large data sets with high dimensionality and complexity


Skills and Requirements:

Qualifications include:

  • 3-5  years related experience 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong reporting and QA skills with the ability to collect and organize data with attention to detail and accuracy, such as the ability to identify extreme outliers and flag for review

  • Hands-on experience using Python or R for data wrangling, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling

  • Proficiency using SQL and data visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI, etc)

  • Familiarity with analytics/reporting platforms, including Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Yearn to ask questions to gain a better understanding of a concept or the data

  • Ability to think creatively about challenging problems

  • BS/MS degree in related field (or equivalent training and experience)
