Who You’ll Work With:

The Arya Data Engineering Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing team within AB. Join a launching hedge fund team at AB Arya to design and build the foundational data and automation infrastructure that will drive investment decisions. As the first technical hire on the team, you'll have the unique opportunity to architect systems from the ground up and shape the technological foundation of our investment process.

The Arya Research Analyst will support an Industrials Portfolio Manager, within AllianceBernstein’s Arya Partners business unit.

What You’ll Do:

As a Data Engineering Analyst, you will:

  • Gain insight to the challenging dynamics of working on an equity focused, long/short, multi-manager hedge-fund platform.

  • Acquire expertise working with a Portfolio Manager who is a seasoned Industrial sector expert.

  • Learn a process driven model for fundamental, in-depth analysis of an industry and subset of companies, and make contributions to forward-looking financial analysis.

  • Interact with trading, management, and other research teams across the firm.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Infrastructure Design: Build comprehensive data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources including Bloomberg API and other financial data providers

  • Web Automation: Develop Python-based web scraping solutions to automate data collection from diverse online sources

  • Dashboard Development: Create automated graphical outputs and investment dashboards to drive investment decision-making

  • System Integration: Connect disparate data sources into cohesive, reliable workflows that serve real-time investment needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or python / coding intensive training

  • Proficiency in Python programming with knowledge of scraping and financial libraries (BeautifulSoup, Pandas, Numpy, etc)

  • Experience with API integrations, particularly financial data sources (Bloomberg API preferred)

  • Understanding of database architecture and design principles

  • Strong communication skills with ability to proactively collaborate, accept feedback, and iterate toward solutions

  • Self-starting initiative and drive to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets

  • Relentless intellectual curiosity and a drive to excel at the highest level

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
