About the role
At NCheng, our IT Support Specialist ensures smooth day-to-day technology operations across our offices. This role will be based on-site five days a week in our US office and will act as the first point of contact for all in-office IT needs. The specialist will work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP), coordinate between our India and US teams, and support the onboarding and offboarding of staff. This role also manages hardware/software inventory and ensures all systems and devices operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with company policies.
What you'll do
- Help Desk & Troubleshooting: Provide on-site support for hardware, software, network, and
- connectivity issues, resolving problems promptly.
- MSP Coordination: Serve as the liaison between internal teams and our external Managed Service
- Provider, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of technical issues.
- Onboarding & Offboarding Support: Set up and configure workstations, accounts, and software for
- new hires; properly decommission devices and accounts for departing staff.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including computers, monitors,
- peripherals, software licenses, and networking equipment.
- System Maintenance: Perform regular checks on office IT infrastructure (e.g., printers, routers,
- conference room equipment) to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaboration Tools Support: Assist employees with email, video conferencing, file-sharing tools, and
- other collaboration platforms.
- Software License Management: Oversee all licensed software, including procurement, renewals,
- upgrades, and compliance tracking.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and
- troubleshooting steps; ensure compliance with company IT policies.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on new IT tools, cybersecurity best practices, and technology trends to enhance internal operations.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience in IT support).
- 2–4 years of IT support or help desk experience, preferably in a professional services or corporate office setting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, and common office hardware (printers, AV equipment, network devices).
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPN setup).
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple issues simultaneously in a fast-paced office environment.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role will range from $85,000 - $88,000
Pursuant to the pay transparency laws of New York State and other local ordinances within the state including (but not limited to) New York City, the salary range displayed is for the New York markets. The salary offered will be determined by several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, certifications, and skillset. NCheng LLP reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
