Your Role:  IT Support Specialist, Tier 1


As the IT Support Specialist Tier 1 you will serve as the primary contact for technology support across our school system. You will be responsible for providing in-person and remote support to teachers, staff, and administrators. You will ensure that Apple devices, classroom technology, and school networks run smoothly and reliably. You will troubleshoot, repair, and deploy technology solutions that keep our learning environments operating effectively. This role requires patience, communication, and technical expertise to support a community of educators and learners from preschool through middle school.


Job Responsibilities


End-User and Classroom Support: You are the first line of support for our learning community.

  • You provide timely and effective IT support for teachers, staff, and students both in person and remotely
  • You train and guide staff on the use of Apple hardware, software, and classroom technology
  • You resolve user issues calmly and with clear communication

Device Deployment and Management: You ensure every user has reliable and secure technology.

  • You install, configure, and repair Apple devices including MacBooks and iPads
  • You deploy and manage devices across the school system using JAMF or other MDM tools
  • You coordinate with vendors for warranty service and parts replacement

Network and Systems Support: You keep our users connected.

  • You troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues to minimize downtime
  • You assist with installation and configuration of network hardware
  • You manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions securely

Operational Technology: You keep classrooms running smoothly.

  • You install and troubleshoot printers, copiers, and classroom AV equipment
  • You document and track support tickets, recurring issues, and solutions
  • You ensure technology compliance, safety, and asset tracking across campuses

Supporting School Life: You help maintain smooth operations.

  • You support school safety drills
  • You may have lunch and/or arrival duties

Requirements

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION INCLUDE

  • At least 3 years of IT support experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Apple hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Apple ACMT certification
  • Experience with JAMF or other MDM systems
  • Background in mass device deployment and management
  • Hands-on experience repairing Apple products
  • Familiarity with preschool, elementary, or middle school environments
  • Ability to resolve network-related issues

$65,000-$75,000
