This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Data Platform Engineer. In this role, you will be pivotal in leading the design and implementation of complex database solutions that drive mission-critical operations. Your expertise in both on-premises and cloud-based architectures will enable the creation of efficient and scalable data platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will solve complex problems and innovate within the data ecosystem. Your contributions will significantly enhance data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across various industries.

Accountabilities

    • Lead global teams in design and architecture discussions.
    • Implement scalable database architectures on cloud-native platforms (AWS).
    • Optimize applications for cost efficiencies in AWS RDS & EMR.
    • Collaborate with teams to ensure integration with existing systems.
    • Manage automated operations through CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools.
    • Monitor and fine-tune database performance for scalability.
    • Implement data protection strategies with encryption and access controls.
    • Develop enterprise data models and enforce data standards.
    • Research new technologies to enhance database efficiency.
    • Create comprehensive documentation for database configurations.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
    • 10+ years of Enterprise Data Platform Engineering experience.
    • Expertise in multi-cloud database architecture and cross-platform migration.
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and DevOps automation tools.
    • Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
    • Experience diagnosing complex database issues.
    • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
    • Business continuity planning and high-availability architecture design.
    • Mentoring experience with junior engineers.
